Due to its chemical resistance, Teflon has become the material of choice whenever the highest inertness is required. So far, manufacturing of Teflon syringes has been expensive. Torviq has designed and manufactured simple and affordable Teflon syringe. Teflon syringe has numerous applications and it can replace the popular polypropylene (PP) syringe in projects requiring compatibility with large variety of chemicals. PP suffers from one serious drawback: the syringe barrel swells in certain solvents (dichloromethane, tetrahydrofuran, dioxane) and, after several hours of exposure, the syringe plunger does not provide tight seal. This problem is now solved by using the Teflon syringe |
